W.E.C. Lines, a Rotterdam-based maritime container carrier, was burdened by manual data entry and incomplete imports from the Odyssey reservation system into a legacy Coolplex AS/400 application, causing errors and heavy workload in invoicing and calculations. They engaged Thinkwise, which validated feasibility with a fast Test Drive and developed a tailored ERP solution called ThinkWEC.

Thinkwise implemented ThinkWEC to automatically receive confirmed Odyssey reservations, generate shipment calculations, and integrate with ProActive (digital archive for purchase invoices) and FIS for financial settlement, removing file imports and manual checks. The Thinkwise solution saved about 2 FTE annually in the invoicing department, eliminated ad-hoc Excel reporting, delivered up-to-date management information, and enabled further automation plans for AS/400 maintenance and repair processes.
