Sustainability at Hawke’s Bay Airport: confirming what matters most

Hawke’s Bay Airport engaged thinkstep-anz to help refine and future-proof its sustainability strategy by confirming what mattered most to shareholders and other stakeholders. The airport needed a clear, independent view of the sustainability issues it should prioritise as part of a materiality assessment.

thinkstep-anz carried out a full materiality assessment using stakeholder interviews, a survey of 104 stakeholders, and a leadership workshop to add a business lens. The process identified and ranked 24 sustainability topics, gave Hawke’s Bay Airport a materiality matrix to guide decisions, and created a framework to update the assessment over time, improve stakeholder engagement, and strengthen business decision-making.
