Australian Steel Institute launches Steel Sustainability Australia in January 2023 with thinkstep-anz

The Australian Steel Institute (ASI) wanted to revise its Environmental Sustainability Charter to help its members meet the construction industry's growing sustainability demands. The ASI engaged thinkstep-anz to develop a new certification programme that would identify responsible sourcing principles and provide a pathway for accrediting businesses throughout the steel supply chain.

thinkstep-anz worked with the ASI to develop the Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) certification programme. This programme, aligned with the Green Building Council of Australia's framework, provides a clear path for steel businesses to achieve "Good Practice" or "Best Practice" recognition, allowing them to increase their market share by selling more products to Green Star projects.
