AoFrio, a New Zealand-based global leader in refrigeration technology, sought to embed circular economy principles into its product design and manufacturing. The company faced the challenge of upskilling its team to understand and apply these principles, including the new ISO 59000 standards. AoFrio engaged the vendor thinkstep-anz to provide the necessary expertise and tools for this transition.

thinkstep-anz developed a tailored program that included an introductory presentation for approximately 70 employees and a focused workshop for 15 key team members. The solution involved mapping existing practices against ISO 59004 principles and assessing two products using the Material Circularity Indicator. As a result, AoFrio built shared internal knowledge, identified priority actions and opportunities, and became better equipped to implement sustainable practices and innovate in product design.
