Holiday Inn, a busy hotel near Birmingham International Airport, needed a better way to manage staff planning across multiple departments with different labour requirements and shift patterns. The hotel wanted to improve operating efficiency, reduce payroll costs, and give managers the financial data needed to stay on budget, so it chose Thinking Software’s Rota Horizon time and attendance and rota management solution.

Thinking Software implemented a three-month proof-of-concept in food and beverage before rolling out Rota Horizon across the hotel. The system made rota creation more consistent, improved timesheet checking, reduced admin effort and payroll costs, and gave managers better forward planning, holiday management, and absence control. Heather Jones also highlighted quick access to accurate reports and projected payroll data, helping the hotel keep operations on budget.
