University of Manchester changes legislation with Think Design Manchester’s 92-page report and 3.23-minute animation

The University of Manchester's Healthy Ageing Research Group faced the challenge of influencing government policy with a complex report on housing and dementia. They commissioned Think Design Manchester to create an accessible and visually engaging report and animation from scratch, moving away from traditional, stuffy document design to effectively present their findings to cabinet ministers.

Think Design Manchester developed a fully illustrated 92-page report, a 24-page executive summary, and a 3.23-minute animation under a tight deadline. The solution was presented to government ministers and directly led to a change in legislation, making accessibility mandatory for all new builds. The impactful design was credited as key to the report's dissemination and national success.
