Fingrid, the company that manages Finland's national electricity transmission grid, faced a significant challenge in onboarding new employees. Their traditional safety briefings required trainers and new hires to travel to one of 30 substations across the country, which was costly in terms of both time and mileage. They needed a more efficient and environmentally friendly method for their employee training program.

Fingrid partnered with ThingLink to develop a solution using their platform to create over 100 virtual safety briefings. ThingLink was used to build immersive, navigable virtual tours from 360-degree images of the substations, complete with embedded informational tags. This eliminated the need for travel, saved substantial time and money, reduced the company's carbon footprint, and allowed new employees to complete training flexibly from any location. Feedback on the ThingLink solution was highly positive from all stakeholders.
