A Thinglink Case Study
The customer, AcademyEx, a provider of education programs, faced a challenge in teaching Māori visual culture authentically. There was a shortage of Māori teachers, and existing resources were clunky and difficult to navigate, leading to a risk of cultural misappropriation. A teacher, Katrina Lilly, used the vendor ThingLink's Scenario Builder to create an accessible and culturally respectful virtual learning environment.
Using ThingLink, Katrina Lilly built Pae Ringa Toi, an interactive resource featuring video lessons from a Māori artist, practice exercises, and knowledge tests. The solution provided an engaging, gamified learning structure with analytics and translation features. The results were extremely positive, inspiring learners and receiving high praise for being a clear and engaging resource. The vendor ThingLink enabled the creation of a permanently free, widely accessible tool that is now used by art educators across New Zealand.
