Teva Pharmaceuticals improves WFI valve control with Thermo Systems

Teva Pharmaceuticals, a global pharmaceutical company, faced challenges with the Point of Use (POU) valves in its existing Water for Injection (WFI) system at its West Chester, PA research campus. The company engaged vendor Thermo Systems to modify its Process Utility Control System (PUCS) and Utility Automation System (UAS) to enable effective control and monitoring of these critical valves.

Thermo Systems provided a comprehensive solution that included developing a submittal package, fabricating and modifying panels, and performing PLC programming and SCADA development. The implementation involved installing a new Remote I/O panel and modifying an existing control panel. These modifications by Thermo Systems improved the functionality and reliability of the WFI system, thereby enhancing Teva Pharmaceuticals' operational capabilities.
