Princeton University, an Ivy League institution, is striving to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2046. To support this campus-wide sustainability goal, the university needed to implement a sophisticated control solution for its new interconnected geo-exchange energy plants, requiring scalability, cybersecurity, and high performance. Thermo Systems was engaged to provide the Plant Control Systems for this initiative.
Thermo Systems delivered integrated Plant Control Systems utilizing Rockwell Automation hardware for the TIGER and TIGER CUB energy plants, which were fully integrated with the university's existing AVEVA SCADA platform. This solution enabled seamless operational transitions, real-time data monitoring, and coordinated plant performance. The results significantly enhanced energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and provided the robust automation platform needed to support long-term operational efficiency and progress tracking towards the university's net-zero targets.
