Case Study: Hudson Yards boosts resilience and sustainability with Thermo Systems control system integration

A Thermo Systems Case Study

Hudson Yards saves 24,000 metric tons of CO2 with Thermo Systems

Hudson Yards, a major 28-acre real estate development in Manhattan, sought to maximize efficiency and cost savings for its thermo and electrical power systems. Thermo Systems was selected to design and implement a resilient cogeneration plant and microgrid control system solution based on Rockwell Automation technology.

Thermo Systems implemented two separate Rockwell Automation ControlLogix PLC-based systems to manage electrical and thermal energy distribution. This solution increased resilience, reduced emissions by approximately 24,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent, and improved control by providing lower-cost energy and increased uptime, transforming Hudson Yards into a model of sustainability and self-sufficiency.
