Isola di Capo Rizzuto, a Calabrian municipality, needed to restore and safeguard a historical archive of around 20,000 worn and long-abandoned documents, while making them easy to search and access for staff and the public. The municipality partnered with Therefore Corporation and Canon Italy to digitize the archive and implement a modern document management system.
Therefore Corporation implemented Therefore™ Workgroup Edition with five licenses, supported by Canon DR 6030-C and DR 4010-C scanners to digitize and catalog council resolutions and financial statements by year and mandate. The project was completed in just over three months, eliminating slow manual searching, improving security and traceability, and giving employees immediate multi-user access to documents; the success also led the municipality to consider rolling the system out to other offices.
