County Council Upgrades Document Management System

Northumberland County Council needed to replace an aging document management system that had grown too slow and inflexible to handle around 20 million records. As an existing Canon customer, the Council worked with Therefore Corporation to evaluate a more open, scalable platform, choosing the ADOS Document Management enterprise solution to support faster retrieval and better integration with back-office systems.

Therefore Corporation implemented ADOS on new SQL servers using a phased rollout, with data migration, cleansing, testing, and staff training managed through PRINCE2 project methods. The new system was completed three months ahead of schedule and delivered significantly faster document access, improved productivity and processes, secure access to business-critical information, reduced paper usage, and easier integration across departments.
