Canon Switzerland faced a challenge with managing the ever-increasing volume of paper documents, which were stored across two separate archive locations. This made retrieving information difficult, with employees spending an average of 50 minutes per day searching for documents. To minimize physical storage needs and simplify retrieval, they turned to their own vendor, Therefore Corporation, implementing a document management solution using Canon scanners and the Therefore software.

The solution involved setting up a dedicated scanning station with a high-speed Canon DR-M160 scanner to digitize paper archives and new incoming documents, particularly invoices from the accounting department. By using Therefore Corporation's software, which integrated with their SAP and Oracle systems, Canon Switzerland successfully eliminated over 60 binders of paper per month. This saved valuable office space, minimized the risk of lost documents, and significantly reduced the time employees spent on research, allowing for more productive work.
