The Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) needed to move away from a paper-based, clunky database system that was inefficient for staff, licensees, and members and couldn’t handle the college’s unique Candidacy Membership Program requirements. In 2017, the regulator began searching for a more modern licensing and membership solution, and selected Thentia Cloud from Thentia to better support its regulatory and association operations.

Thentia implemented Thentia Cloud to digitize licensure, renewals, document management, compliance, and the complex candidacy program in one online portal. The results included about a 60% reduction in paper handling, 24x faster candidacy turnaround times, easier renewals, improved workforce reporting, and stronger resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic; the college also reported that 75% of members felt it was headed in the right direction with its technology.
