Waupaca Foundry, a global leader in iron castings, faced a major communications gap because over half of its nearly 5,000 frontline employees had no regular computer or email access. To ensure equal access to schedules, safety notices and company news, Waupaca partnered with theEMPLOYEEapp and in April 2019 launched their mobile solution, TheHub, to reach deskless workers across plants and shifts.

theEMPLOYEEapp’s TheHub delivered mobile schedules, Alerts, localized plant posts and analytics, empowering plant admins to share timely, relevant information and enabling instant notifications during incidents (one plant with 70% app use received closure alerts immediately). The result: 50% adoption in six months (rising to about 75% during COVID-19), an employee engagement score increase to 84% (from 77% in 2018), better local communication and measurable content tracking—demonstrating theEMPLOYEEapp’s impact on faster, more equitable employee communication.
