Baxters, the Leicestershire-based printer and part of a wider group with Streamline Press, needed to replace a simple bespoke estimating tool with a more robust management information system to support growth, improve visibility, and work more efficiently across both sites. The challenge was to gain better control over estimating, job management, and group-wide capacity while handling a higher volume and wider mix of print work.

Tharstern implemented an MIS for Baxters, starting with estimating, job bags, purchase orders, and delivery notes, and later adding invoice reconciliation, online scheduling, reporting, and shop floor data collection. The result was faster quoting, more accurate estimating, quicker job booking, and a major increase in capacity, with Baxters growing from around 300 jobs per month to more than 500. Tharstern also helped streamline paper ordering and improve forecasting and reporting, delivering a system the customer described as “fantastic.”
