Mike’s Carwash, a 21-location car wash chain in Ohio, struggled to collect and use customer data after Meghan Hollabaugh joined in 2014 and discovered POS systems didn’t provide easy access to customer insights. Relying on untargeted email, radio and direct mail, the company couldn’t identify VIPs, track frequency or measure campaign performance, so Meghan and EVP/CFO Greg Ries sought a data-driven loyalty solution.
In July 2016 Mike’s implemented Thanx, which integrated with their POS to become the system of record for customer data and power automated campaigns. Using Thanx’s Winback tool and audience insights, they recovered more than 30% of lapsed loyalty members, drove tens of thousands of dollars in revenue, and gained transparent, trackable visibility into customer frequency, spend and behavior for smarter marketing.
