Westcon Relies on SafeNet Trusted Access for Constant Uptime and Reduced Costs

Westcon, a Norwegian shipyard supporting more than 700 users—many of whom connect from offshore rigs and vessels—faced frequent downtime and limited IT resources to manage strong authentication. To address this, Westcon engaged Thales and selected its cloud service SafeNet Trusted Access (formerly SafeNet Authentication Service) to replace the unreliable on‑premises solution.

Thales implemented SafeNet Trusted Access with support for existing hardware tokens and SafeNet SMS tokens, plus automated self‑service and provisioning to simplify management. The Thales solution delivered 100% uptime, reduced helpdesk workload and operating costs, preserved Westcon’s token investment, and enabled secure remote access for its field users while moving to an OpEx payment model.
