A Thales Case Study
Schleißheimer, a German developer of automotive software tools best known for CanEasy, faced a breakdown with their third‑party licensing provider that could not deliver a required update or modern features such as online activation, hardware security keys and easy transfer/re‑hosting of floating licenses. After a strategic evaluation of requirements and vendors, Schleißheimer selected Thales Sentinel for flexible, secure entitlement and license management.
Thales implemented Sentinel’s out‑of‑the‑box protection and web‑based license management (project scoped in weeks and implemented within eight weeks), enabling online activation, central floating‑license services, license borrowing and re‑hosting. As a result, Schleißheimer achieved simpler, transparent pricing, launched four CanEasy editions (Professional, Standard, Basic and RichPanel Runtime), introduced CanEasy On Demand subscriptions and expanded Sentinel across other products—improving flexibility, modernizing architectures and boosting customer satisfaction.
