Case Study: TAB Bank achieves PCI DSS compliance with Thales Vormetric Data Security Platform

A Thales Case Study

Preview of the TAB Bank Case Study

TAB bank comfortably trucks past PCI DSS compliance with Thales

TAB Bank, a transportation-focused commercial bank with over $670M in assets, needed to achieve PCI DSS compliance but was concerned that encrypting all stored cardholder data would negatively impact infrastructure performance. To address this, TAB Bank selected Thales and its Vormetric Data Security Platform (including Vormetric Data Security Manager appliances) to provide high-performance encryption and centralized policy management.

Thales deployed Vormetric across TAB Bank’s virtualized and physical environments (primary and disaster-recovery data centers), using the platform’s web-based console and “learn” mode to identify allowed applications and refine access policies. The implementation was completed rapidly, enabled full encryption of online and archived data (including backups), delivered PCI DSS compliance, and produced no noticeable performance impact while simplifying administration and granular access control.
