PrimeKey worked with a large commercial vehicle manufacturer transitioning to electric and self‑driving trucks that needed a scalable, certificate‑based identity system. The implemented solution combined PrimeKey’s EJBCA Cloud as the certificate authority with Thales’ Luna Cloud HSM as the root of trust, delivering a hosted, high‑availability PKI with predictable costs, no hardware to manage, and the option to migrate on‑premises later. With Thales providing the secure root of trust, the manufacturer can now issue and manage certificates quickly across the vehicle lifecycle, support OTA updates and certificate‑based access, and plan a global rollout across 140 countries while avoiding per‑certificate pricing and upfront investment.
