A Thales Case Study
Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), as the FBI’s central repository and security standard, required participating law enforcement agencies to adopt strong, multi‑factor authentication that would not impede officers’ work. To address this mandate, Thales (formerly Gemalto) provided its SafeNet Authentication Solutions—including eTokenPASS and SafeNet MobilePASS—to enable secure, convenient remote access for patrol officers and other staff.
Thales implemented SafeNet devices, mobile OTP solutions and centralized management plus professional services to integrate with the Metro PD’s environment, preserving existing login flows (GINA compatibility) and minimizing user disruption. The Thales deployment strengthened access controls, delivered centralized token visibility, and enabled the department to meet CJIS authentication requirements while remaining cost‑effective and easy to use.
