Kapalya Partners with Thales to Provide Centralized Key Management

Kapalya, a California-based cybersecurity start-up offering an Encryption Management Platform (EMP) that delivers end-to-end persistent encryption and real-time ephemeral key serving, needed a way to centrally manage encryption keys and policies across hybrid IT environments (endpoints, on‑premises and cloud) while meeting compliance requirements like GDPR, HIPAA and PCI‑DSS. Kapalya partnered with Thales to integrate Thales NextGen Virtual KeySecure as the centralized key and policy management component of its solution.

Thales NextGen Virtual KeySecure was implemented within Kapalya’s EMP to provide centralized key management, granular access controls, separation of duties, and detailed logging for audit trails. The combined solution enabled uniform cryptographic policies across endpoints and clouds, simplified administration and audit preparation, strengthened compliance posture through improved visibility of key state changes and access, and ensured customers retained control of their encryption keys—while remaining transparent to end users.
