Geocap, an Oslo-based developer of 3D visualization and modeling tools for geoscientists, struggled with licensing after years on Flexera’s FlexNet Publisher (FNP). The company found FNP’s administration tools insufficient—leaving hundreds of license files scattered, no easy way to track clients, expiries or features—and evaluated Thales as a replacement, choosing Thales Sentinel to meet their needs.

Thales Sentinel RMS supplied a comprehensive API and utilities that let Geocap build a lightweight CRM to store licenses, clients and expiry data in a central database, greatly reducing administrative overhead and making renewal and license tracking straightforward. With Thales’ multi-model licensing support (hardware keys, trials, standalone and network licenses), cross-platform compatibility and strong technical support, Geocap achieved centralized license control, easier server management and the flexibility to enforce diverse licensing terms.
