A Thales Case Study
CMI, a payments consortium founded by nine Moroccan banks, needed a local, scalable solution to protect e‑commerce growth in Morocco from fraud, legacy banking constraints, and cyber threats while managing digital keys and ensuring data integrity. To meet these challenges CMI selected Thales and its payShield 9000 hardware security module (HSM), working with local partner PCard to ensure local support and compliance with regional requirements.
Thales delivered payShield 9000 HSMs to provide tamper‑resistant key management, PIN validation and transaction processing with backward compatibility and flexible licensing; the solution was deployed quickly (implementation reportedly took five minutes) and supports CMI’s high volumes—over 250,000 transactions per day—while reducing operational risk, avoiding frequent hardware replacements, and providing 24/7 local support to sustain secure, scalable e‑commerce.
