Banco de México Protects Mexico’s Financial Assets with Thales

Banco de México, the central bank and a primary regulator of Mexico’s financial system, needed a simple, easy-to-manage two‑factor authentication solution to secure a dispersed network of mobile workers, teleworkers, IT administrators and external banking partners. To protect access to sensitive systems such as email, the Remote Access Portal and web‑based banking/support applications, Banco de México selected Thales’s SafeNet OTP Token Authenticators together with the SafeNet Strong Authentication Management System.

Thales deployed the SafeNet tokens and Strong Authentication backend, integrating the solution into Banco de México’s existing infrastructure and bringing it fully online in just a few weeks. The result: secure 24/7 remote access for more than 3,000 employees across six branches, faster IT response times (eliminating off‑hours commutes), higher employee productivity, simple administration and lower total cost of ownership thanks to long‑life OTP authenticators — all delivered by Thales.
