ZhongXing Micro Finance, a ZTE subsidiary, provides short-term loans online and needed to protect sensitive customer information used in financial transactions. The company was concerned about external attacks, insider threats, and securing data in motion, at rest, and across different systems and unstructured file types.

ZhongXing Micro Finance selected Thales e-Security’s Vormetric Transparent Encryption after evaluating other options. The solution encrypted all of its data in two or three hours instead of the several months some vendors estimated, with no discernible impact on response times, and it gave the company stronger protection against unauthorized access, including by privileged users.
