Thales Speeds Up and Secures Electronic Invoicing at Si.mobil-Vodafone

Si.mobil-Vodafone, Slovenia’s first private mobile telephony operator, wanted to reduce the high cost of billing for more than 500,000 customers and move from paper-based invoicing to electronic invoices while meeting strict EU and Slovenian legal requirements. It worked with Thales e-Security and system integrator SETCCE to support the shift to electronic invoicing.

Thales e-Security provided nShield hardware security modules to digitally sign the invoices and securely store and manage the cryptographic keys. The system processes invoices and delivers them by e-mail or other electronic channels, with benefits including integrity, authenticity, a secure audit trail, and up to 80 percent savings in product and distribution costs. The nShield HSM can handle more than 5,000 digital signatures per second, helping Si.mobil-Vodafone secure high-volume invoicing efficiently.
