Thales e-Security provided payShield 9000 to secure card issuing and payment processing, including PIN protection, transaction processing, and key management. The HSMs gave Marqeta the interoperability, compliance support, and high assurance needed for POS credit and debit transactions, and helped it launch a platform that now supports dynamic spend controls and advanced processing capabilities. The case study says Marqeta became the first vendor in the payment industry to open its API on its website.
