Thales e-Security Enables Teensafe To Securely Help Parents Protect Kids

TeenSafe, a service that helps parents monitor children’s smartphone activity, needed to keep highly sensitive data private and secure from unapproved access. Because it operates in real time and stores backup data before parsing, the company wanted encryption that could be deployed quickly, work within its existing application infrastructure, and protect data even if a system were compromised.

Thales e-Security provided Vormetric Data Security Manager, Vormetric Transparent Encryption, and Vormetric Key Management. TeenSafe said the solution integrated without changes to its architecture, encrypted data seamlessly with no discernible performance impact, and has been low maintenance and reliable in production, while giving the company fine-grained control over user access rights and helping protect the information of more than 1.4 million parents.
