North Dallas Bank & Trust Co., a locally owned bank in the Dallas area, moved its ATM and debit verification processes in-house to improve customer service, lower costs, and keep customer PIN data under its control. The bank chose Thales e-Security hardware security modules to protect the new in-house processing while supporting real-time account information for customers.

North Dallas Bank & Trust Co. implemented two Thales HSM 8000s with its S1 Postilion payment software and the STAR Network. The HSMs were ready in less than a day and one consultant completed implementation in just a few hours, with very little maintenance afterward. With Thales e-Security, the bank posts transactions more quickly, has reduced transaction processing costs significantly, and keeps PINs decrypted only inside the HSM.
