A Thales e-Security Case Study
Medical Consultants Network, a national provider of medical judgment services founded in 1985, needed to encrypt sensitive case service data to meet HIPAA and other federal regulations. Its environment included about 70 Microsoft SQL Server databases, production and disaster recovery storage, and a mix of hardware, virtualization, and cloud components, making it difficult to secure data consistently across systems.
Medical Consultants Network chose Thales e-Security’s Vormetric Encryption to secure data across production databases and backup files. The rollout took a couple of days, and the company said the solution was easy to set up and maintain. As a result, MCN described encryption as “set and forget,” with data staying secure during moves between databases and clustered environments while remaining compliant with applicable federal and state laws.
