A Thales e-Security Case Study

Preview of the Kellogg's Case Study

Kellogg’s Relies on Vormetric for Superior Brand and Business Security

Kellogg’s, the Battle Creek, Michigan-based food company behind brands including Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Special K, Pringles, and Pop-Tarts, needed a stronger way to protect employee and customer data. It wanted encryption for data at rest as well as access controls that would keep local administrators from seeing confidential information, while still supporting compliance across the countries where it operates. Kellogg’s evaluated several options before choosing Thales e-Security’s Vormetric.

Thales e-Security implemented Vormetric Data Security Manager and Vormetric Key Management, starting in North America and expanding to Europe and Asia Pacific. Kellogg’s said the solution was quick and simple to roll out, remained transparent to users, and worked with SAP without requiring schema changes. The company now encrypts information at rest and in the cloud, including log files, and says its internal audit team has endorsed the controls and that it is completely PII compliant.
