Driven Solutions, headquartered in Carrollton, Texas, needed to secure personal credit card information and personally identifiable information across a mixed IT environment. The company wanted to meet PCI DSS requirements and go beyond them, while supporting both a Sun Solaris 10 stack for its legacy OLTP Sybase system and multiple Microsoft SQL servers.

Driven Solutions selected Thales e-Security’s Vormetric Encryption after evaluating options and completed a proof-of-concept in its quality assurance environment. The implementation was finished inside a day, and after rollout the company reported only a nominal degree of additional latency that users could not detect, along with an external audit that passed with flying colors.
