A Thales e-Security Case Study
Con-way, Inc., a transportation and logistics company with more than 28,500 employees, needed to better protect personally identifiable information and other confidential customer data across a complex environment. The company said its mix of operating systems, databases, unstructured files, partners, managed services, and cloud services made it difficult to secure data at rest and in motion without adding operational complexity. Con-way chose Thales e-Security’s Vormetric solutions to address those requirements.
Thales e-Security provided Vormetric Encryption and Vormetric Key Management as a single integrated solution for Con-way’s heterogeneous environment. Con-way said deployment was straightforward and took only an hour or two per server, depending on file size, while the solution had no noticeable latency on application performance and was transparent to users. The company also reported minimal administrative overhead and positive internal reviews of the resulting data-level security.
