A Thales e-Security Case Study
Focus Services, a privately owned call center service provider, needed to meet PCI DSS requirements while keeping customer data secure. Because it audio recorded 100 percent of customer communications, call recordings containing credit card data fell within the scope of PCI compliance, and the company also had to manage about 12 TB of stored recordings with minimal impact on access speed.
Focus Services implemented Vormetric Data Security with a single Vormetric Data Security Manager appliance protecting its Windows server and storage area network. With help from a Vormetric consultant, the system was operational in under four hours, and the company reported no perceptible performance change in recording retrieval or latency. Focus Services said Vormetric made encryption easy to deploy and manage, while supporting data-level protection and PCI compliance.
