CDW, a Vernon Hills–based technology reseller with 8,000+ employees that hires 400–600 people annually, was struggling to manage a high volume of candidate communication: recruiters were texting from personal phones, couldn’t track or record conversations, and wanted some automation without losing an authentic, human touch.
CDW rolled out TextRecruit in phases, quickly integrating two-way, customizable texting into its hiring stack and giving recruiters controlled access via desktop or mobile. The result: an 87% candidate response rate (vs. 5% for calls), 99% open rate (vs. 20% for email), ~400 texts/day and 20,000+ sent in 2017, just 0.5% opt-outs, and roughly 100 recruiter hours saved in a single quarter.
