Ultra White Collar Boxing Boosts Participant Engagement Using SMS

Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) runs nationwide novice boxing events to raise money for Cancer Research UK and needed to re-engage inactive sign-ups, boost training attendance and increase ticket sales across 100+ events. To add reach and structure to their campaigns they turned to Textlocal, using Textlocal’s SMS platform to improve communications and target local participants.

Using Textlocal, UWCB sent segmented SMS messages with trackable short links and local targeting, then used the response data to identify best send times and follow-up cadence. The campaign drove a 32% click-through rate from new participants (vs. 14% for paid social), a 12% CTR on ticket offers (vs. 2% previously on social), and nearly one in three recipients became members—60% signing up instantly and a further 13% within a week—prompting UWCB to stagger ticket sales and explore more Textlocal features (Short Numbers, Keywords, API automation, DINs).
