The Chesterford Group (TCG) operates over 40 fish and chip shops across three brands (fishnchickn, Churchill’s and Bankers) and piloted a click & collect service to lift order value and drive online sales. To support a wider roll‑out and capture passing trade, TCG worked with Textlocal to deploy SMS marketing tools — using a Keyword to Short Code and an autoresponder to let customers opt in for reminders about a 50% off first‑order promotion.

Textlocal’s solution had customers text FISH to 66777 from store posters and reply REMIND for a notification when the offer went live; the autoresponder then sent the reminder with a link to order. In a four‑week pre‑campaign period 51 people texted, 18 requested the reminder on day one, 100% of those clicked through to the website and 9 placed an order (50% web‑to‑order); SMS orders averaged 27% higher than usual and the pilot showed order values double those of in‑store sales, convincing TCG to make Textlocal SMS a central part of their marketing mix.
