Astro Communications, a boutique IT, ISP and connectivity specialist since 1984 with 30 staff, was overwhelmed by server-generated email alerts. Urgent incidents—such as restaurant payment servers going down—were getting lost among hundreds of messages, and on-call engineers feared missing overnight critical issues. To solve this, Astro worked with Textlocal to deploy an SMS alerts solution.

Textlocal implemented an SMS alerting system that detects high-priority emails and sends immediate texts to senior management and engineers, with a five-minute reminder if unacknowledged and a follow-up when issues are resolved; for high-security clients it also delivers MFA PINs via SMS. The Textlocal solution boosted responsiveness to severe events, reduced overnight email checking (improving staff wellbeing), and enabled the team to contact customers and begin troubleshooting faster—driving a notable increase in response rates.
