SMS helps NUS to deliver student discount quickly

The National Union of Students (NUS), via its NUS extra membership programme representing over seven million students, needed a faster, more convenient way than email to notify students about card delivery and expiry. NUS engaged Textlocal to provide an SMS/text messaging solution to reach students more reliably and quickly.

Textlocal implemented integrated SMS notifications (working alongside email and the NUS website) to alert students about card dispatches and expiry dates. The Textlocal service reduced call centre traffic and associated costs, drove increased traffic to NUS’s website and email channels, and gave both NUS and students faster confirmation and access to discounts.
