Policing & Community Safety Partnership (PCSP Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon) faced reduced Neighbourhood Policing Officers and a feeling among Neighbourhood Watch volunteers that they were “out of the loop.” To re-establish direct, immediate communication with residents—particularly older people and those less active on social media—the organisation has used Textlocal’s SMS services for over two years to send alerts and key information.

Using Textlocal’s website and app, the PCSP implemented targeted SMS alerts (geographic or thematic), enabling real-time updates that residents act on immediately. To date they have sent 302 text alerts to 855 registered users, with 98% of 173 respondents satisfied and 98% saying the service increases their engagement with police and the PCSP. Textlocal’s platform also proved easy to use, cost-effective compared with mailshots, and provided delivery and reporting tools to track impact.
