PCMIS successfully improves patient engagement rates with SMS

PCMIS Health Technologies, a University of York subsidiary behind the PCMIS case management system, faced the COVID-19 challenge of maintaining IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) patient contact when face-to-face appointments were no longer possible. To keep services connected and collect clinical information remotely, PCMIS adopted Patient Portal SMS and integrated Textlocal’s Messenger to deliver secure links to patients by text.

Using Textlocal’s Messenger within Patient Portal SMS, PCMIS sent trackable short links to online assessment forms that feed directly into the electronic patient record for clinicians to review before telephone or video appointments.
