Open Assessment Technologies evolve today's learners with personalized support

Open Assessment Technologies (OAT), the creator of the global open source assessment platform TAO, needed a way to make digital assessments more accessible as demand grew for support for learners with dyslexia, neurodiverse conditions, print disabilities, ELL, and visual impairments. To address this challenge, OAT partnered with Texthelp and selected its SpeechStream reading, writing, and math support tool for online assessments.

Texthelp worked closely with OAT to integrate SpeechStream into TAO, enabling features like text-to-speech with visual tracking, vocabulary support, translation, pronunciation correction, and read-aloud math equations. The result was a more accessible and secure assessment experience that helped OAT better serve diverse learners, strengthen customer relationships, and support compliance needs across its platform used in 194 countries.
