The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals Relies on TestReach to Deliver Secure and Flexible Online Exams

The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), the Chartered association for payroll and pensions professionals, needed to scale and secure formal exams for a growing, geographically dispersed candidate base while avoiding the logistics of local test centres, invigilators and labour‑intensive paper marking. To solve this, the CIPP implemented TestReach’s online assessment platform, using its test authoring capabilities and remote invigilation service to deliver secure exams to distance learners.

TestReach provided remote invigilation (audio, video and screen share) plus automated marking and advanced question types that allow partial credit for multi‑step calculations, removing the need for paper transport and manual correction. The move has produced a huge reduction in administration, enabled candidates to sit exams from home or the office, made it easy to scale into new regions, and supported Ofqual accreditation for CIPP qualifications (the Certificate in Pensions Administration is Ofqual QCF level 3).
