How a Brazilian University Uses Testfairy to Teach its Students Real-Life Skills in Mobile App Development

Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL), a public university in Brazil, needed a more practical way to teach students how to evaluate mobile app usability. In its “Usability for Mobile” course, Professor Gabriel Gerber Hornink wanted students to go beyond theory and learn hands-on methods for collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative usability data.

TestFairy was used as an educational tool for Android mobile usability classes and for student final projects. With TestFairy’s screen recordings and app metrics, students could observe real app behavior, review crashes, and understand hardware and network data, improving their grasp of UX and usability. The result was a stronger practical learning experience, and Gabriel said he would definitely recommend TestFairy to other universities for teaching and research.
