A test IO Case Study
DriveTime, the second-largest vehicle retailer in the U.S. focused on used vehicles, was rewriting its mobile website while implementing continuous integration. With three development teams working across frontend, backend, and features, the company needed a way to quickly run exploratory tests whenever a release hit the test environment, especially as mobile traffic grew to more than 50% of site visits.
test IO integrated with DriveTime’s Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services pipeline via API to trigger on-demand crowdtests for vehicle search and detail, dealership pages, and lead generation forms. The solution delivered bug reports to GitHub and provided results within hours, even when DriveTime was rebuilding 20–30 times per day during launch week. According to DriveTime, test IO gave QA “breathing room,” helped cover real-world and older devices, and enabled faster releases without creating a QA bottleneck.
