Tidelands Health, the largest health care provider in coastal South Carolina with four hospitals, 60+ outpatient locations and more than 2,500 employees, aimed to boost employee engagement and move away from taxable gift-card recognition after new IRS guidance. To support on-the-spot, branded recognition valued by staff, Tidelands engaged Terryberry and adopted the Terryberry 360 Recognition Platform.

Terryberry’s 360 Recognition Platform—deployed with Service Awards, AwardPoints, Award Your Team and Give a WOW—consolidated incentives, converted taxable bonuses into AwardPoints, and added a social Recognition Wall and reporting analytics. As a result, Tidelands saw overall employee engagement rise 9% year‑over‑year (68% to 77%), leader engagement index increase 2 points (87 to 89), manager participation reach 44.35% (about 14% above the medical industry average), and notable gains for evening/night staff.
