Chelsea Groton Bank, the largest mutual bank in Eastern Connecticut with 15 locations and 225 employees, wanted to expand recognition beyond milestone awards to better reinforce its seven core values and strengthen its internal brand. To do this, Chelsea Groton partnered with Terryberry and added the Terryberry 360 Recognition Platform to support more day‑to‑day, values-driven recognition.

Terryberry implemented modules such as Give a WOW (peer-to-peer), AwardYourTeam, Recognition Analytics, AwardPoints/AwardChoice and Service Awards, branding the program Chelsea Acorn Rewards and using a social feed to drive engagement. The Terryberry solution more than doubled industry participation benchmarks (employee participation 51.85% vs. 19.78%; managers 77.27% vs. 32.05%), increased cross‑branch connection and visible leadership recognition (e.g., the Mighty Oak award), delivering clear, measurable engagement gains for Chelsea Groton Bank.
